The SULA Society
We are a group of volunteers led by the mother-daughter team Lisa and Barbara that provide veterinary care, shelter and rehabilitation for animals in Puerto Vallarta. We rely on donations from people like you and partnerships with other charities to continue our work of saving animals in need and finding them loving forever homes.
SPCA Puerto Vallarta
Our main focus is to rescue the abused, homeless animals from Puerto Vallarta’s streets and place them in foster homes in both the United States and Canada until permanent homes are available. We are not supported by the government, corporations, foundations or businesses. We fully function on private donations.
Friends of Puerto Vallarta Animals
Run by dedicated and passionate volunteers who are committed to the well-being of the homeless pets. This No-Kill shelter is staffed by fabulous veterinarians and caretakers who work hard every day to ensure each animal’s basic needs are met. We rely strictly on donations to provide food and medicine to the animals in the care of the shelter.

This place is awesome – for humans and DOGS!! You could not ask for anything more here! Dogs playing and referees (great people) to care for them. Great people who gather here, food, drink, and attention to detail for all!! Huck and I am are here almost everyday. Say “hi” when you arrive!! Ask Jessie for the dangerous lemonade and sangria drink, but, maybe, only have one!

This place is great, a friendly neighborhood style place with a large bar and seating area, wonderful large space for the dogs to run around and play. Great for locals living here year round and it’s also attracting tourists here short term ( with or without dogs ) who watch the dogs play. Good prices and friendly staff.

It’s the perfect indoor / outdoor social dog park! We come every day! My dog loves playing with dogs here, & most dogs are everyday attendees. Food is excellent along with their mixed drinks & champagne! Everyone working here is so friendly, nice. I get hugs walking in. Everyone yells out Riley- my dogs name! He thinks he the King of the park!

are well mannered and get along so while we sip our drinks and perhaps have a little snack. Our pets run free throughout the grounds. They usually get a good workout so when they arrive home they will fall asleep. The Pet Gatekeepers always ensure it’s a safe and fun environment

Ruffy’s is fantastic! The people are great but the dogs are AMAZING! We ordered two beers and were seated in the main dog park area. We had 3 best doggo friends within 30 seconds of sitting down. The place is clean, has a nice breeze, great view of the river, and you get to play with dogs. Love it! We will be back.

Great place to let your dog run around. There aren’t many wide Open spaces downtown for a dog to run freely so I’m glad this place opened. I’ve been to Ruffy’s several times and my border terrier has a blast every time. There’s a big dog area and also a little dog area for timid dogs. Love this place.

This entire concept is amazing and executed beautifully. It has a clean and safe space for your pets to run freely. The staff are helpful and attentive to your pets needs and safety. Food and drinks are great too especially the chilli dog. I have really little dogs and they loved it. We will defiantly be purchasing their monthly membership.

YOU NEED TO VISIT. If you have a dog, or a love for dogs, you will sincerely wonder how this is not a standard business model in the states. We happened upon this bar completely accidentally on a warm day of walking through the flea market area and wanting a drink. As I walked in and saw that it was, I was beyond taken back, this place is AWESOME. We wished we had our dogs and want to see more of this everywhere, such a cool place!
